Brock Purdy underwent surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow on March 10, and San Francisco 49ers fans haven't heard much from him in the time since.

But the former Mr. Irrelevant, who burst onto the NFL stage last season by reeling off six straight wins before leading San Francisco to the NFC championship, provided an update on his condition.

Purdy detailed his recovery process in an interview for the radio station Fox Sports 910AM. Inside The 49ers transcribed Purdy's conversation.

"The next couple of weeks is just about trying to get your range of motion. That's where I'm at right now. Scars all where everything is healed up in stitches. I'm just working on my range of motion and start throwing in three months," Purdy said.

Purdy later described the arm brace he was provided post-surgery, and how "it looks like I have a robotic arm."

The road to recovery will be a long one for Purdy, no doubt, but it sounds as if his surgery was successful.

Once Purdy proves he's at 100 percent, the real questions will begin regarding his role on the 2023 49ers. The team will surely want to give former third-overall pick Trey Lance an opportunity to realize his potential after playing in just eight career games. Capable veteran Sam Darnold will also be present on the depth chart.

Despite his massive 2023 success, Brock will have to earn his way back onto the field this coming year.
