Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Orlando Brown Jr made a surprising revelation about a key play in Super Bowl LVII

Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Orlando Brown Jr, who signed a four-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals last week, made a surprising revelation about a key play from Super Bowl LVII on Tuesday.

Brown made an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show where he was asked about his time in Kansas City (among other topics).

One of Eisen's questions had to do with one of the final plays of the Chiefs' win against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl last month.

While discussing the end of the game, Brown mentioned that after the holding penalty that was called against Eagles cornerback James Bradberry, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shouted "church mode" in the huddle.

Eisen asked what "church mode" means and Brown revealed that "church mode" is what Kansas City head coach Andy Reid calls taking a knee on purpose.

Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon took a knee before reaching the end zone, which set up Kansas City's game-winning field goal, to avoid giving the Eagles the ball back with a chance to go down the field and score.

"Church mode is a situation where you don't want to score," explained Brown.

"I don't ever want to take credit away from any player, but I mean, it's the NFL...normally all of those situations are practiced," added Brown.

Mckinnon was praised for his quick thinking on the field, but it appears that going down before scoring was called in the huddle. He still deserves credit for staying focused and not scoring, but it wasn't quite the hero move that everyone thought it was.
