The City of Brotherly love is mourning a loss from the Bird family.

Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Nate Ramsey passed away at the age of 77 on March 8. Funeral services for the Eagles standout and team captain took place on Saturday.

Ramsey spent 10 seasons with the Eagles from 1963-1972.

Ramsey played in 11 NFL seasons and spent the final season of his career with the New Orleans Saints.

One of Ramsey's more memorable games came on Nov. 28, 1965 where he tallied three interceptions against the St. Louis Cardinals. Ramsey also notched an interception two weeks later on a day where the team recorded nine interceptions against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team record.

Ramsey is a native of Neptune, New Jersey. He is survived by his daughter Angela Ramsey and his granddaughter Kayla Whittingham.
