Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III is facing three additional charges, including two felonies, for his alleged role in a fatal car accident Tuesday morning.

According to prosecutor Eric Bauman, Ruggs was driving 156 mph and had a blood alcohol level of .161 – twice the legal limit in Nevada – when he struck the rear of a Toyota RAV-4, which caught on fire. It left a 23-year-old woman, Tina Tintor, and her dog dead, according to police. Ruggs, 22, and a female passenger, girlfriend Rudy Washington, were taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

In total, Ruggs faces five charges. Ruggs has now been charged with two more felonies, driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving, stemming from the injuries suffered by Washington, according to the Las Vegas-Review Journal

Ruggs has also been charged with possession of a gun while under the influence, a misdemeanor, according to court records. The 22-year-old had initially been charged with one count of driving under the influence resulting in death and reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm.

Ruggs, who police said remained on the scene and "showed signs of impairment" was booked into Clark County Detention Center on Tuesday afternoon. He was released on $150,000 bail and is under house arrest while being monitored electronically. Ruggs also had to surrender his passport and abstain from alcohol and other controlled substances, according to court records.

A status hearing in the case is scheduled for Wednesday morning, according to the Las Vegas-Review Journal.

Ruggs faces a maximum of 46 years in prison.

A first-round pick in 2020, was released by the Raiders after the accident.
