CINCINNATI, Ohio — Count Hall of Fame coach Dick Vermeil amongst the group of those incredible impressed by Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Last week, Vermeil was the featured speaker for Moeller High School’s 40th annual sports stag. In an interview with WCPO in Cincinnati, Vermeil heaped praise on Burrow and compared him to some of the league’s best.

“When I saw him coming out (of LSU), I watched him as much as I could,” Vermeil told WCPO. “I have never seen a quarterback come out who can consistently throw the ball as accurately as he could. Never. And I go back to John Elway and (Jim) Plunkett — great players. He’s really impressed me and he’s continued to do so.”

Vermeil’s credentials are stout, as he led the then-St. Louis Rams to a Super Bowl title in 2000, and took the Eagles to a Super Bowl in 1980.

Burrow’s are too, as he has quickly gained a reputation as one of the league’s best quarterbacks in his three years as a Bengal with back-to-back AFC title game appearances with one Super Bowl appearance.
