Jimmy Vaccaro, the longtime Las Vegas bookmaker, has been inducted into the Sports Betting Hall of Fame.

Vaccaro took part in a ceremony at the SBC Summit North America conference and trade show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Wednesday.

According to the Hall of Fame, Vaccaro started as a blackjack dealer in 1975 at the Royal Inn, where he opened the sportsbook under owner Michael Gaughan. The two would work as partners at Barbary Coast and South Point as well.

Vaccaro would go on to run the sportsbooks for Golden Nugget and MGM, and he opened the book at The Mirage in 1989 under then-owner Steve Wynn.

He currently serves as bookmaker and sports marketing director at South Point and linemaker for VSiN.
