The prevailing thought with the divorce between Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen was that it had to do with the legendary quarterback continuing to play football.

Brady retired after the 2021 season, but decided to give it another go, playing the 2022 season, too. Shortly after that season began, the couple announced their divorce.

However, Gisele has since revealed that it was not Brady's decision to keep playing football that sparked their divorce.

"She was like, that's an oversimplification of why we got divorced. I'm not divorcing him after 16 seasons for one more season," Michelle Ruiz said.

"I will continue to believe the millions Brady got her to invest in FTX that resulted in them losing a combined like $70 million was probably a bigger impact leading to the divorce than him playing this season," one fan added.
