Joe Mixon's time with the Cincinnati Bengals could be coming to an end.

Katie Blackburn, the executive vice president of the Bengals, said that Mixon was the team's starting running back - but also added a few conditions.

"Right now, he's on the team," Blackburn said.

"There is a whole myriad of things that can happen. And I don't want to imply that anything is going to happen or not going to happen because it all can depend on so many other things."

The Bengals could save over $10 million against the salary cap by cutting Mixon, which would in turn present the team with more money to eventually replace him.

The NFL world is reacting to the announcement.

"This is the most unconfident I have ever heard a person talk about a football player ever," one fan said.

"Seems to me like a very calculated answer in general," another fan said. "She didn't want to say anything one way or the other because it is a fluid situation."

Mixon has been a big part of some deep playoff runs in Cincinnati, but with the Bengals having huge contracts looming over the next few years, it's not surprising that the team is weighing its options.
