The Minnesota Vikings revealed they’re keeping a veteran player around on Friday afternoon.

Minnesota extended fullback C.J. Ham for two more years. Ham, a Viking since the 2016 season, will continue to play for the only team he’s ever sported a uniform for.

“MORE HAM! The #Vikings have signed @cjham28 to a 2-year contract extension,” the Vikings announced on their Twitter account.

Ham joined the Vikings after he went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft after time at Augustana University in South Dakota. The Duluth native has maintained a spot on the team ever since. Fans elected Ham to the Pro Bowl in the 2019 season.

In 96 career games, CJ Ham has recorded 36 rushes for 97 yards and three rushing touchdowns along with 70 receptions for 610 yards and two touchdowns.

His most productive season came the year he was elected to the Pro Bowl. In 2019, he was featured in all 16 games. He pulled in 24 touches for 166 yards and one touchdown that year.

The 29-year-old fullback will represent more continuity for the reigning NFC North Champions. Minnesota expects to feature Ham along with Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson, and Dalvin Cook, among others in 2023. The Vikings won their 21st Division championship in 2022, their fifth NFC North Division title.

The NFL world reacted to the news out of Minnesota after the team made the official announcement.
