Raiders should strongly prefer Aaron Rodgers over Jimmy Garoppolo

If the Raiders have a choice between Jimmy Garoppolo and Aaron Rodgers, they should pick the four-time MVP.

A Rodgers-Davante Adams reunion is tantalizing, especially after the Raiders Pro Bowl WR appeared to lobby for a Rodgers trade on Twitter while answering 15 questions from fans.

Adams is arguably the team's best offensive player, so it should keep him happy. Rodgers and Adams connected for 69 passing TDs in eight seasons together.

The Raiders would have to acquire Rodgers via trade since he has two years left on his deal, per Spotrac.

Green Bay's asking price is costly for a 39-year-old QB. According to NBC Sports' Peter King, the Packers would want two-first round picks in a Rodgers trade.

The Raiders have the No. 7 overall pick, per Tankathon. So they likely have to center a deal around this and more, which might give them a reason to pause.

Additionally, Garoppolo, a free agent, is familiar with Josh McDaniels' system since he played under him for three seasons in New England.

Yet Garoppolo, who's recovering from a broken foot, is injury-prone. He has only started an entire season once during six years in San Francisco, while Rodgers has only missed one season since becoming a full-time starter in 2009.

Would the Raiders want backup Jarrett Stidham or a green rookie over Rodgers if Garoppolo is injured?

Also, Garoppolo has never thrown for 30 or more passing TDs, indicating he's more of a game manager and incapable of putting a team on his back.

Risking it on Rodgers seems absurd, but it's an option to consider since there are few QBs of his caliber.
