Report: Sam Bradford will be active Sunday

a man wearing a hat © Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports Sam Bradford hasn’t played since Week 2 of the NFL season. But ahead of Sunday’s divisional round game against the New Orleans Saints, the Minnesota Vikings are planning on making him active behind Case Keenum. The report fails to indicate whether or not Teddy Bridgewater will also be active.

Last season, Bradford would lead the league in completion percentage (71.6). As it turns out, his only full game of the season came against these Saints in Week 1. Then, Bradford would complete 27 of 32 passes (84.4 percent) while compiling 346 yards and three touchdowns. But both these teams are vastly different from where they each were in Week 1.

The Vikings have the best defense in the NFL, both in total yards and points allowed. Meanwhile, the Saints are one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Their offense is second in total yards and fourth in total points. Meanwhile, the Vikings are 11th and 10th in each category, respectively. Case Keenum has continued to hold his own under center, but the belief among many is that their offense just can’t hang with New Orleans.

However, it’s already been a special season for Minnesota. And if they reach the Super Bowl, they’ll be playing in their very own stadium. If that’s not enough motivation, what are we doing here? Then again, head coach Mike Zimmer will surely have his team prepared. But if Keenum begins to struggle, could we see Bradford?

Sunday could get very interesting.
