The Washington Football Team's "Fitzmagic" lasted for only 16 snaps this season.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick's 2021 campaign is now officially over, after the decision was made to undergo hip surgery.

This was the former Harvard University signal-caller's 17th NFL season, but first since 2007 where he only appeared in one game. 28-year-old Taylor Heinicke has started in place of Fitzpatrick and has helped lead Washington to four straight wins and back into the playoff picture.

In 12 games, Heinicke has completed 67.9% of his passes for 2,809 yards and 18 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. The Old Dominion product also ranks second on the team in rushing attempts (52) and rushing yards (289), while scoring once on the ground as well.
