When Russell Wilson isnt getting reps on the football field, or jet-setting across the country with Ciara to attend music awards ceremonies and exclusive events, the power couple is giving back to the community in their backyard.

This week, the Seahawks quarterback and pop star surprised nearly 900 Denny International Middle School students with a virtual visit to share advice on investing and financial literacy.

First of all, I hear that you guys are doing some really amazing stuff around financial literacy and building wealth, Wilson said over Microsoft Teams. Ciara and I really want to talk to you all because we didnt come from much. We had big visions, we had big goals, big dreams.

The Wilsons began "dropping jewels by quizzing the students before announcing they were giving each student at the West Seattle middle school a savings account with $40 in seed money to invest in their future. There is one caveat, though, students cant access the money until they turn 18.

Ciara explained that investing can occur in more than just financial literacy. Its also about investing time into yourself, investing time to your craft and investing time in helping the environment.

All these things can pay back tremendously if you invest in them in the right way. Investing is very powerful, and it will also allow you to create an opportunity to build legacy for your family, Ciara said.

The virtual event was done in partnership with the NFL Player's Association and Goalsetter, led nationwide by Houston Texans Safety Mike Thomas and the NFL Players Association.

Way to go Russell & Ciara!
