Tennessee Titans team president and CEO Burke Nihill announced Wednesday the Titans will not require fans to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend games at Nissan Stadium for the beginning the 2021 NFL season.

“At this point, that is the plan,” Nihill said, addressing the policy at a press conference. “We are planning for full capacity on Sunday, and the hope and expectation is that will be the case for the rest of the year. But (like) last year, we will be as flexible as necessary to keep the season going.”

The Titans will also not require fans to wear masks while at the stadium. The decision follows that of the City of Nashville, which lifted all of its COVID-19 restrictions in May.

The NFL has allowed teams to decide capacity limits, as well as whether or not to require fans to provide proof of vaccination or to wear masks. All 30 NFL stadiums have announced a return to full capacity for the 2021 season.

Several teams, such as the New Orleans SaintsKansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, will require fans to wear masks in indoor areas of the stadiums. Other teams such as the Seattle Seahawks, whom the Titans will soon play, have announced that fans will be required to wear masks at all times and show proof of vaccination.
