Tom Brady announced his permanent retirement from football on Wednesday, marking the end of his legendary 23-year NFL career in which he captured seven Super Bowl championships and established numerous records.

In a social media post, the 45-year-old quarterback expressed his satisfaction with his career, stating that he “wouldn’t change a thing”.

It is worth mentioning that Brady had previously announced his retirement on February 1, 2022, only to reverse his decision 40 days later and play one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And it might just happen again!

Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, says fans are eager for Tom Brady to retire as a member of the team. Kraft said the Patriots are keen to bring Brady back for a one-day contract after the 45-year-old quarterback announced the end of his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A one-day contract is a ceremonial document signed by athletes who have played for a team before finishing their careers elsewhere. Kraft said the team will do everything in its power to bring Brady back, have him sign as a Patriot, and honor him in the future.

Robert Kraft stated that Tom Brady “will always be a Patriot” and they will do everything to bring him back, have him retire as a Patriot, and honor him for years to come. Kraft added that Brady brought life and joy to their community and is a beloved figure.

Brady, who was drafted by the Patriots as an unimpressive 199th pick in the 2000 draft, went on to establish himself as the greatest quarterback of all time with two decades of exceptional play for the team.

He led the franchise to its first Super Bowl win and added five more championships in nine Super Bowl appearances. His impressive performance also earned him three NFL MVP awards.

Brady left the team in March 2020 and joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unsurprisingly, he won a Super Bowl with his new team, further solidifying his dominant position in the NFL. Despite not having as much success in the past two seasons with Tampa Bay, Brady proved he can still perform at a high level at his age.

Kraft, who spoke to ESPN, praised Brady, saying, "I don't think there has been a quarterback like Tom in the 100-year history of the NFL, and I don’t believe there will ever be another one.”

Whether or not Brady comes back is to be seen, but he has plenty to focus on outside of the field. This past summer, he signed a 10-year deal worth $375 million with Fox Sports to work as an analyst. He has also established successful clothing and wellness brands.

Brady’s personal life was likely a big reason behind the permanent retirement, with his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bundchen ending their 13-year marriage.
