Tony Romo is making sure the heir to his throne isn't getting unnecessary flack this offseason.

The loss of Dez Bryant definitely isn't a positive for the Cowboys offense, but it shouldn't be the be all end all of Prescott's success either.

Nothing Romo says here is incorrect.

If a quarterback can do his job at a high level, it really doesn't matter who his receivers are. Tom Brady has been throwing to undersized receivers for years and he is the winningest quarterback in the history of the NFL.

The loss of Bryant may even be mitigated by a full season of Ezekiel Elliott. The star running back can help take pressure off Prescott. His absence killed the team last season during his suspension.

Prescott isn't a top end quarterback by any stretch.  But he isn't going to plummet down the rankings just due Bryant leaving. Prescott just needs to keep doing what he has been doing, managing the game and not making mistakes.
