Man Bowls Perfect Game Using Ball Containing Late Father's Ashes

John Hinkle of Peoria, Illinois, bowled a perfect game on April 12, using a ball containing the ashes of his late father. “I can’t express what tonight means to me. I just bowled a 300 with my ball I put my Dad’s ashes in,” Hinkle wrote on Facebook. “He never had a perfect game until NOW. Thank you so much Kayla Marie Johnson for putting his ashes into my bowling ball. Epic Night.” Hinkle’s brother, Joseph, was there to give him a big hug after the final strike. Local reports said the Hinkles were all avid bowlers and John had been trying to find a way to put his father’s ashes in a bowling ball since he died in 2016. Finally, a childhood friend who also bowls and had just opened a pro shop, was able to make it happen, reports said. (She sealed the ashes in the thumbhole.) Hinkle was previously a competitive NCAA bowler at Western Illinois, ESPN reported. Credit: Nick Page/John Hinkle via Storyful
