Restaurant manager’s secret note helps rescue boy from serious harm
When Flavaine Carvalho, a manager at Mrs. Potato Restaurant in Florida, spotted an 11-year-old boy with bruises on his face and sitting “sad and quiet in the corner” with his family, she decided to act. She secretly showed him a note asking if he needed help, and that eventually led to the arrest of the boy’s allegedly abusive stepfather. NBC’s Sam Brock reports for Weekend TODAY.
