Wolves forward Raul Jimenez was taken to hospital following a disturbing clash of heads with Arsenal's David Luiz at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night, though initial signs on his condition are positive.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo spoke after the game to provide an update on the Mexican's condition, and revealed he was awake and talking following the incident - which also saw Luiz substituted at half time after he sustained a nasty cut to the head.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Jimenez, Nuno stated: "He's doing a scan, but he's conscious. He's okay inside the gravity of the problem, of course.

"The reaction of the teammates and everybody [told him it was serious] and you start hearing 'code red'. It is serious and it was a bad moment for everybody - both teams, both players, the Arsenal players worrying. We wish everything to be okay but we are worried of course."

Nuno went on to confirm the player has been speaking since, and is awake, in a welcome first update.

"He speaks, he's aware, but he's doing a scan and we have to have a proper assessment. But he's in good hands."

Wolves won the match 2-1 - their first win at Arsenal since 1979 - following first half goals from Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence. They sit sixth in the Premier League on 17 points after 10 games, but will be more immediately concerned with the health of their forward following the match in north London.
