Djed Spence: Neil Warnock backs Tottenham target to thrive under Antonio Conte

07:50 , Jonathan Gorrie

Neil Warnock was the man who allowed Djed Spence to leave Middlesbrough on loan and join Nottingham Forest, where the England U21 international put himself in the shop window to say the least.

A key target for Antonio Conte at Tottenham, Spence even moved to aim a dig at Warnock when Forest won the play-offs.

Speaking to talkSPORT, however, Warnock has backed the defender for success should Conte get his man.

“I had a few run-ins with Djed, to be honest, as managers do,” he said.

“I had one or two chats with him and a few words were said. So the lads said, he had a bit of a go at me.

“But I’m glad to see it seems the penny has dropped because, like I said to him face to face, it could go either way.

“I told him, ‘you could be playing for Bromley next year, or you could be in the Premier League’.

“It looks like he’s going to be in the Premier League, so good luck to him.”

Tottenham could STILL move for Alessandro Bastoni

07:43 , Jonathan Gorrie

Even if Tottenham complete a loan deal for Clement Lenglet of Barcelona, Antonio Conte could STILL try and move for Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni.

The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare has hinted an attempt to sign the Italian - one of Conte’s big targets this summer - could still be launched despite the big spending in other departments.

“Even someone like Bastoni, I wouldn’t rule that out. I know his agent has come out and said he loves Inter and everything, but that’s happened before and then moved, partly they don’t want to seem like they’re agitating for a move, but I still think, maybe I’m hearing what I want to hear, but I don’t think that deal is totally dead,” Eccleshare said to the Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel.

Juventus want Chelsea to include Timo Werner as part of any deal to sign Matthijs de Ligt this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has hinted at making a number of attacking signings after a difficult season for his frontline and has already allowed Romelu Lukaku to leave the club on loan.

Werner, despite his obvious uses, has not fully convinced since his move from RB Leipzig in 2020 and is a target for Juve, as they consider whether or not to sell de Ligt - a leading target at Stamford Bridge - after previously admitting the Dutchman was unhappy.

Bruno Fernandes sends Arsenal transfer message

07:30 , Jonathan Gorrie

Arsenal’s move for Fabio Vieira last month took a number of people by surprise, such was the speed of the deal.

While a move for Gabriel Jesus has naturally dominated the talk around the club of late, it will be interesting to see just how Mikel Arteta develops a player to have impressed for Porto last season.

Indeed, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has given his verdict on the £34m deal.

“Fábio has a lot of quality and has been demonstrating that, whether in the FC Porto is in the Under-21s, he has had good numbers and good performances,” he said.

“I hope he succeeds like all the Portuguese out there. We have to start valuing what is ours and I hope that Fábio manages to be as good as possible, despite of waiting to stay ahead.”

With just a year left on his deal with Leicester City, the Belgian international looked destined to leave Leicester for one of the north London giants, while Manchester United were another credited with an interest.

The Daily Mirror, however, now claim West Ham could launch what would be an eye-catching move to sign him.

Wilshere: Richarlison wouldn’t get in Arsenal XI

Jack Wilshere has delivered his verdict on Richarlison, Tottenham’s latest signing.

See what you think.

Wilshere told talkSPORT: "I think he improves the [Tottenham] squad, definitely. He gives them something different. I wouldn't say I'm gutted [as an Arsenal fan]. He's 25, so he's not young.

"There comes a point where he's going to have to turn all that potential into something. To be fair if anyone can do it it's probably Antonio Conte.

"So I wouldn't say I was devastated as an Arsenal fan but I think he will be one to watch, he could be really, really good.

"Yeah [I'd have him at Arsenal]. I don't think he gets in the XI. He definitely would challenge for it and would be a good part of the squad. But I don't think he gets in the XI."
