COVID staffing shortage could lead to trash collection delays in Greensboro

Greensboro city officials said a shortage of solid waste drivers due to COVID-19 is going to impact trash collection. Staff will continue to collect garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk items on a regular schedule but the time of the collection may be earlier or later than usual. The city needs 45 drivers total for all of the residential waste needs. Thirty of those drivers drive automated trucks that do garbage and recycling. City leaders said that is where they have issues filling staffing holes when they're out. Greensboro officials are now having to split up routes to make sure everything is covered. https://www.wfmynews2.com/article/news/local/shortage-of-trash-truck-drivers-in-greensboro-due-to-covid19/83-15bee631-37ce-465a-a940-7d075ddce03d SUBSCRIBE | https://bit.ly/2vsX74I Follow us: Facebook | https://bit.ly/3326pAY Twitter | https://bit.ly/2vIPZkT Instagram | https://bit.ly/39Ghs5a Download the WFMY News 2 app: ►Text the word APP to 336-379-5775 ►For iPhone | https://apple.co/3aaH6iM ►For Android | https://bit.ly/3aea9Sv
