Florida State of the State address: Governor DeSantis says he's proposing $1B gas tax holiday

Governor Ron DeSantis spoke about inflation and its impacts on Floridians during the 2022 Florida State of the State address on Tuesday. He said he's proposing a $1 billion gas tax holiday to combat inflation. "Inflation is an invisible tax on Floridans," Governor DeSantis said in his State of the State address, adding that pain can especially be found at the pump. 'If Washington D.C. won't change course, then we have a responsibility to step up on behalf of our Floridians," he continued. Back in November, Governor DeSantis first proposed the gas tax holiday, saying the issue was "really, really serious." He doubled down on the proposal during the State of the State address.
