Major Hurricane Ian remains on track for landfall somewhere along Florida's western coast, according to the National Hurricane Center. Hurricane and storm surge warnings are in effect for Tampa Bay ahead of increasingly likely impacts from Hurricane Ian. Significant impacts are anticipated — including life-threatening storm surge, hurricane-force winds and flooding rainfall. As of the 5 p.m. advisory, Hurricane Ian is still a Category 3 storm and was located about 230 miles south of Sarasota, with sustained winds of 120 mph. Ian's movement is north at 10 mph.
