CHP warns of illegal parking along Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe

California Highway Patrol officers in South Lake Tahoe say they’re seeing a dangerous trend: Families heading up the hill for a day of fun, and stopping at the first sign of snow they see along the highway. “This year has been a nightmare,” says Officer Ruth Loehr. Loehr says the CHP has handed out 323 parking citations just in the month of January, for cars that are double-parked, unsafely parked, stopped in no-parking zones and even parked in passing lanes.
