Another day. Another restaurant closing. This time, it's the northwest Houston food and beer spot The Branch.

Tuesday, Kyle Pierson announced the Spring Branch restaurant would be closing shop on social media:

"Don't be sad, guys. We will always have each other and I am sure I will see you around the neighborhood," he wrote.

Pierson was previously the head bartender at Hay Merchant, the popular Montrose brewpub that closed last year. Houston Food Finder reported Pierson's previous boss, Kevin Floyd, had opened a restaurant close by — Shoot the Moon. That one closed in April.

Back in 2020, The Branch closed every Monday in March, in support of Asian businesses during the start of the pandemic.

"Everybody is so proud to say Houston's the most diverse city in the country. Asiatown is a big part of why we're so diverse," Pierson told the Chronicle. "Talk is cheap. Go out there and spend some dollars."
