FAA closes one air traffic control tower at DFW Airport due to staffing shortages
DFW Airport aims to keep on schedule today after a bit of a slowdown Wednesday. Flights got backed up because the FAA closed one of the airports air traffic control towers because of a staffing shortage blamed on a spike of Coronavirus infections.
Even at that, though, North Texas passengers have had it better than most during the holiday travel period. For example, major hubs served by Delta, United and Jet Blue were tangled in a web of Christmas weekend delays and cancellations numbering in the thousands.
At DFW Airport, on the other hand, American cut between 200 and 300 Christmas flights on Saturday and Monday.
