CLEAR — which you may know from helping you skip lines at airport security — is teaming up with health science company LabCorp to bring contactless and safe entry to participating venues.

Expanding on its CLEAR Health Pass, the identity technology company is incorporating COVID-19 test results and pertinent health information in their entry requirements for businesses or venues looking for an extra layer of precaution amid the pandemic.

CLEAR app users who are enrolled in Health Pass, can link their LabCorp Patient Account information, including their latest COVID-19 test results, which will determine whether or not they'll be allowed to enter a participating venue.

“We are enabling people to securely share their LabCorp health information in convenient ways so they can return to work, travel, and enter public venues safely and with confidence,” said Adam Schechter, chairman and CEO of LabCorp said in a statement on Monday. “We are excited to combine science and technology in ways that can improve how people live and work.”

Upon entry, users will need to take an in-app selfie to verify their identity and then re-verify at the venue's touchless CLEAR kiosk either with a face scan or the app's QR code. The app will then have a green signal if the user can enter or a red signal if they cannot.

“We are thrilled to join forces with LabCorp to help our partners create safer environments for their employees and communities,” CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker said in a statement. “Health Pass is helping thousands of people return to their jobs and routines, and now this partnership will advance users’ safety by creating a discreet, secure way to share their test results when they enter public settings and workplaces.”

Health Pass is already being used around the country, including for access to the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup Playoffs. It is a free feature available in the CLEAR mobile app that is independent of expedited airport check-in. The app does not allow user access to CLEAR expedited security lanes at the airport.
