New COVID testing rules and other 2022 pandemic travel trends

According to a recent TripIt survey of 1,300 U.S.-based TripIt users, 84% are planning a vacation, 74% plan to visit family and friends, and 43% have plans to travel for business. And the destinations aren’t just confined to the U.S., 16% said they were planning to fly internationally by March and 33% by June in time for the summer travel season. The International Air Transport Association, which represents nearly 300 airlines, estimates 150% more passengers will fly in 2022 vs. 2021.
