A major milestone for a new hospital inpatient facility in Elkhart County.

Goshen Hospital held a "topping ceremony" this morning. That's when crews placed the final steel beam at the top of the structure.

The flag on the beam represents patriotism and the pine tree represents vitality, of both the facility and the organization.

"This facility will support the excellent care and compassionate care in our multi-disciplinary model of how we deliver services to our community," said Goshen Health President and CEO Randy Christophel. "The scientific and customized way this building has been put together and designed really facilitates all the care that we deliver here."

The hospital started work on the new four-story patient tower in November of 2019. It's scheduled to open toward the end of February of next year.
