Presidential aircraft is without a doubt the safest airplane on the whole planet. They are real flying fortresses that can survive many types of destruction attempts. They are equipped with the latest available technology and have some impressive features that we never see in conventional planes. Of course, this type of aircraft comes with a crazy cost, both for production, operation, and maintenance. But, it makes sense that governments and militaries around the world deploy such advanced and well-protected aerial transportation mode for their most important leaders.

Some of the world's most significant people, such as the President of the United States, are highly protected every second of the day. So, it's logical that their countries want to ensure they are safe while they are traveling thousands of miles above the sky, isn't it? Although, aerospace companies have taken that one step further, as they added a lot more incredible features to their presidential aircraft. Just as a little teaser, there's a presidential aircraft that gives its passengers the ability to control submarines' ballistic missiles. How cool is that?

Airbus A310-300 (Canada)

We start our interesting list with a massive plane that was developed by Airbus. The aircraft flies using a propulsion system that includes a twin jet. When it is used for commercial flights, the vehicle has enough space for the transportation of up to 220 passengers.

However, when it comes to government's use, a whole fleet of A-310-300 with many special changes flies the Canadian Prime Minister. The passengers' space has been converted into different rooms serving various purposes.

Royal Air Force Airbus A330MRTT (UK And N. Ireland)

The Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom chose the Airbus A330MRTT for the aerial transportation of the most important leaders in the country. However, it's worth mentioning that Britain and North Ireland are not the only operators of this masterpiece: there are a dozen of nations that have or will have this aircraft in their fleet.

The 380 available seats for passengers have been converted to almost 60 premium types of seats for Very Important Persons (VIPs) of the nations that operate them. The military version looks stunning too!

Airbus A330-200 (France)

Except for the very capable and high-tech Rafales, the French Air Force also operates durable and strong presidential aircraft. The A330-220 is another plane from Airbus that does a very serious job: transporting VIPs in the safest possible way.

France operates other presidential airplanes too, like the A310-300 and A-340-200, but the A330-200 is by far the most advanced in their fleet. It's been flown successfully for more than two decades now!

Boeing 747-400 And Boeing 777-300ER (Japan)

Boeing's 777-300ER is the new presidential aircraft for the Japanese government, and more specifically for the Japanese Prime Minister. In service, they replaced the oldest Boeing 747-400, which efficiently served them for many years.

We don't need to say much about the Boeing 777, as it's one of the most famous airplanes that exist. Its main body is highly configurable, a characteristic that made easier all the modifications that it went through in order to operate as a presidential plane.

Boeing 747-400 (China)

China is a superpower, so you may be surprised by the fact that we are not aware of any dedicated presidential jet. The publicly known aerial transport vehicles for their most important persons include a fleet of Boeing 747-400. This plane is very reliable and spacious.

China may be developing or even producing its presidential airplane right now. It's even possible that the Chinese Air Force has already adopted a new presidential aircraft, which has yet to be revealed.

Airbus A340-300 Airliner (Germany)

One of the most powerful countries in Europe, Germany, has selected A-340-300 Airliner as their main presidential airplane. These planes, along with the Airbus 320 model, have received countless upgrades. Many aircraft have been modified to meet the requirements of VIP aerial transportation in Germany.

A typical A340-300 Airliner can transport between 200 and 300 passengers, something that means it has enough space for a typical presidential plane. In general, it is a reliable and efficient platform.

Airbus A330-243 Prestige (Kazakhstan)

Kazakhstan, along with other countries, operates a fleet of A330-243 planes. These aircraft look stunning, especially with the flags of their countries painted on them. The model comes with two engines and many advanced design characteristics and features that make it an excellent way for modern transportation.

It's worth noting that A-330-243 is often used for the transportation of important members of the G20 group of countries on international trips. This fact on its own is significant enough to promote the reliability of the aircraft.

Ilyushin IL-96-300PU And Tupolev TU-214 (Russia)

The Soviet Union and Russian Federation went through a bunch of different presidential aircraft. Moscow and Washington are the main operators of the most advanced presidential airplanes that were ever created.

Both these two models were designed and developed in Russia. The Russian company Ilyushin is known mainly for the production of military cargo planes, while Tupolev is a Russian aerospace giant, responsible for many of Russia's military aircraft.

Boeing E-4B (USA)

You haven't read about the US presidential planes because we kept arguably the best part of this list for the end. The famous Boeing E-4B, widely known as the Doomsday plane, is an aerial platform that can survive many types of destruction attempts.

Boeing wasn't joking: it put extra protection systems on the airplane and gave it the ability to fly for more than 600 hours on a full tank of fuel. There are a bunch of other systems that make it a real aerial control center for the most important U.S. leaders.

1. Boeing VC25

The presidential plane itself. Boeing VC-25 is responsible for the transportation of the most protected person in the United States, the President. Due to this, the aircraft's features have been kept in dark for years.

All we know is that it's more durable than the Doomsday plane and that America's President can do a variety of tasks while flying on it. Its design fulfills even the craziest requirements of the US Air Force One.
