As Thanksgiving gives way to the rest of the holiday season, celebrations of Christmas and other holidays are starting to pop up around the St. George area. All your annual favorites are back and there are a few new ones you might want to check out.

A Christmas Story at Tuacahn

The annual showing of "A Christmas Story" is back at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre beginning on Friday, Nov, 26.

The popular holiday classic follows a young boy named Ralphie and his wild holiday stories, from getting a BB gun as a gift to his dad's garish leg lamp to getting his tongue stuck to a frozen flagpole.

Many locals visit Tuacahn at this time of year to watch all their classic Christmas stories live under the amphitheater's iconic red-rock background.

Hope of the World, a Nativity of Dance and Music

The St. George Dance Company is back with its showing of the story of the birth of Jesus, a Christmas classic. Dancers from Dixie State University, the community and the St. George Dance Company work in collaboration for this performance. This is a family showing recommended for ages four and up.

Christmas lights kickoff at Historic Town Square

The annual Christmas lights kickoff at St. George's Historic Town Square promises to be a family-friendly event. Organizers have planned an ugly sweater contest, live music, including from some local elementary school choirs, and prize giveaways from the radio station 94.9 New Country.

Trailblazer Nation Tree Lighting Ceremony

Dixie State University is hosting its annual tree lighting ceremony with special appearances from Santa Claus, The Grinch, and Brooks the Bison. Holiday games and performances from local groups will happen for the duration of the event. The first 500 people will also get this year's DSU ornament.

Hive 453 Taphouse and Ryan Bean Yoga are collaborating to bring a holiday yoga event to St. George this Sunday. Mimosas and holiday sweaters are encouraged for those wanting to participate in kicking off the Christmas season.
