FAIRFAX CITY, VA — To celebrate its 13 years in business and the expansion of its flagship Fairfax Old Town Plaza location, Bollywood Bistro will be offering a Lucky 13 Dining Experience during the month of October.

Since the number 13 is considered lucky in India, Executive Chef Sunil Bastola has created a 13-course meal that will be offered 5-7:30 p.m., each Thursday in October, starting Oct. 6.

Bastola will present each of the artfully-plated courses in five rounds at the restaurant's communal table. The experience will be limited to 10 seats each Thursday night at $200 per person or $275 with the addition of speciality wine pairings.

The Lucky 13 menu will include: Masala Crab Ravioli, Koliwada Shrimp, Malai Duck Tikka, Crispy Lamb (julienne cut of lamb tossed in cilantro pesto), Aachari Chicken Tikka (pickled flavor chicken cubes grilled in tandoor oven) Ajwaini Fish Kebab (carom seeds infused cod fillet), Chilly Chicken Momo, Mac ’n Cheese Samosa, Truffle Khichdi Arancini, Yogurt Kebab, Apricot Kofta and Coconut kulfi.

“We love educating diners on Indian cuisine, the Lucky 13 Dining Experience gives me a chance to show off a wide array of dishes and gives the diner a chance to expand their horizons and explore the wide world of Indian cuisine,” Bastola said, in a release.

Diners taking part in the Lucky 13 Dining Experience will be among the first to see the restaurant's expanded space. Studio Ideya used 1970s Bollywood as the inspiration for its updated design of the restaurant.

In August 2009, Bastola teamed up with local hospitality executive Pankaj Sharma to open the first Bollywood Bistro, bringing contemporary Indian cuisine to Old Town Plaza. The pair have gone on to open additional locations in Great Falls and Ballston Quarter Mall in Arlington.

“Whether catering a wedding, serving diners an upscale meal in Fairfax, Great Falls or a quick satiating bite in Arlington, our goal is always to create happy memories through food and we are so excited for this new era, ” said Sharma.
