Unbeknownst to many, Mississippi has its very own Amish community. Sure, it isn’t as large as those found in Pennsylvania and Ohio; however, Mississippi’s Amish community’s got all the same perks, including unique shopping opportunities. And just to help you navigate the rural region of the state, we’ve mapped out a route that’s both scenic and jam-packed with Amish-related adventures.

The perfect day trip, this route spans just over 80 miles.

It will take under two hours to complete. Of course, that doesn't account for time spent at each stop.

1. Ole Country Bakery (Brooksville)

Kick off your road trip with a stop at Old Country Bakery, an “old-fashioned country bakery” known for its homemade doughnuts, cakes, pies, and fresh-brewed coffee made from beans roasted on site, in small batches. Make sure to try the Amish Friendship sweet bread – it’s an all-time customer favorite.

2. Farmhouse Furniture (West Point)

The Amish are often revered for their furniture-making skills, and you’ll understand why after paying a visit to Farmhouse Furniture. A “premier Amish furniture store,” it specializes in handmade, solid wood pieces.

3. Pantry 45 (West Point)

Modeled after old-timey general stores, Pantry 45 is one of the most unique places to shop in Mississippi. Inside, patrons are met with a variety of merchandise, including lots of Amish-made items. There’s also a deli, which serves up sandwiches piled high with Amish cheeses and meats, making this a great place to grab a bite to eat.

4. Market Basket (Pontotoc)

A Pontotoc staple, the Market Basket started back in 1983 as a roadside produce stand. Today, the indoor/outdoor market is a go-to for fresh, locally grown produce as well as an array of Amish-made goods.

An added bonus: Market Basket is in Pontotoc – the heart of the Amish community in Mississippi – which means you might spot a buggy during your visit.
