    • The end of an era! Modern Family rolled its cameras for the final time on Friday, February 21, after an 11-season run and the cast shared photos and videos from their emotional last day. “I will never forget this set, this people, there were only good times,” Sofia Vergara captioned a series of photos of the cast and crew on the set of the Dunphy household. “Thank you Modern Family Thank you Gloria Pritchett.” Later on Friday, the 47-year-old actress posted a video of the cast singing “Time of Your Life” by Green Day after they filmed their final scenes. In the clip, Vergara cries while her costars Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy), Julie Bowen (Claire Dunphy) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell Pritchett) wrap their arms around her. “What a day,” Vergara wrote alongside the video. “Saying goodbye to our Modern Family.” View this post on Instagram Se nos acabó la fiesta!!! Adios stage5 ! Modern Family 11 years!!! A post shared by Sofia Vergara (@sofiavergara) on Feb 21, 2020 at 10:18pm PST Vergara’s husband, Joe Manganiello, posted a sweet tribute to the cast on Instagram writing, “CONGRATULATIONS Modern Family on 11 years of groundbreaking television. There may never be another show with a run like this and a cast this talented. You will be missed.” Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker) shared his own emotional post via Instagram later that day. In the photo, the actor, 48, looks toward an exit door on the set of the ABC comedy. “I guess I’ll see myself out now stage 5,” Stonestreet penned. “11 years walking in and out of this door went by in a flash.” Ferguson, 44, meanwhile, tweeted about how emotional he felt on the last day. “On set of #ModernFamily for the final day of the series,” he wrote. “Eating my feelings. Just had chilaquiles and a sprinkled donut. Eyeing a waffle. Standby.” Vergara also documented the show’s final table read via Instagram on February 12. “Our last table read sad because its ending but so grateful and happy to have been able to be part of this family,” Vergara captioned photos that included the whole cast with their final scripts and a celebratory cake. Bowen, 49, posted a photo of one of the show’s creators to remember the milestone moment. “Modern Family’s FINAL table read is hitting @dannyzuker hard. Our writers truly are the heroes of our show,” she wrote. The hit series premiered in 2009 and won five Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series over the course of its 11 seasons. • Long after their time on the shows in the ABC franchise, members of Bachelor Nation continue to bring the drama off screen. Wonderwall.com is rounding up all the happenings in former "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" stars' love lives in 2020, starting with a commitment ceremony! Dean Unglert (from Rachel Lindsay's season 13 of "The Bachelorette") and Caelynn Miller-Keyes (from Colton Underwood's season 23 of "The Bachelor") first sparked marriage rumors over Valentine's Day weekend. Caelynn shared a photo with her beau and when a fan commented saying "get married," the reality star responded that they "already did," sending fans into a frenzy. Eagle-eyed followers also noticed Dean seemed to be wearing a ring in his Instagram Story videos. However, a source confirmed to E! News that the twosome had a commitment ceremony, not a wedding. The couple have been linked since meeting on season 6 of "Bachelor in Paradise" in 2019. Keep reading for more romance news from the Bachelor bunch...

  • CBS canceled the Feb. 18 and Feb. 19 tapings of "The Price is Right" following the Feb. 15 death of host Drew Carey's former fiancée, family and sex therapist Dr. Amie Harwick, who police say was killed during an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, at her apartment in the Hollywood Hills. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the game show will tape new episodes the week of Feb. 24 or March 2. Because episodes tape months in advance, "The Price is Right" will continue airing as usual. On Feb. 18, Carey took to Twitter to bring attention to a Change.org petition aimed at reforming domestic violence legislation. "Please sign this petition and chip in if you can," he tweeted, adding a hashtag reading "Justice For Amie." Harwick reportedly accused Pursehouse of physical abuse during their relationship nearly a decade ago and filed two restraining orders against him, but the most recent restraining order reportedly lapsed just weeks before her death. A friend told Page Six that Harwick "went to the police" after she ran into Pursehouse, a photographer, at an industry event in Los Angeles in January during which "his behavior was abusive and threatening," but according to the pal, authorities "did not take it seriously."

  • Ever since the inception of television, broadcast TV has acted as an unofficial barometer of technological and social progress. As technology moves forward, so does the medium of television, starting from black-and-white to full-on color. Standard definition turns into high definition, which turns into 4K, and analog eventually becomes digital. But there's a lot more to television than nuts and bolts: namely, an entire range of social stigmas and politics determined by television executives and policed by the FCC.

With television programs piping straight into household living rooms around the world, the images and stories brought to families serve as statements on where society is currently at; a reflection, of sorts. And as society shifts over the decades, so do the television shows reflect these shifts and changes. Taboos are no longer taboos, and television show creators gain some freedom thanks to the TV trailblazers that came before them.

Attitudes toward gender, race, and sexuality have evolved since the television was first introduced to American homes. Standards for profanity and nudity have also loosened to a degree, both on scripted television programs and in all of the ads and commercials aired in between. What seems standard today was all but forbidden in the earlier days of television, with some taboos seeming ridiculous and overprotective from our present-day point of view.

Looking back television's short by wide-ranging history, Stacker selected 50 significant firsts. Compiled from observations made by many other television critics and historians, the gallery includes firsts in television technology, easing sentiments on certain taboos, and groundbreaking creative decisions that increased representation for certain demographics. These firsts may seem menial today, but many of the moments featured here created uproar, controversy, and debate during times where this content was uncommon on the airwaves.

Read on to see some of the most impactful shows and moments that would forever change television history.

Victoria F. made headlines when Peter Weber’s ex-girlfriend Merissa Pence showed up on her hometown date during the Monday, February 17, episode. Merissa, who dated Peter for five months in 2012, told the 28-year-old pilot that Victoria F. “ended” several relationships in the past. “I knew who Victoria was, as far as her reputation, but I honestly didn’t know that she had done as much damage as she had done to our hometown,” Merissa alleged to Us Weekly. “It kind of started becoming a trend. … I felt like she was a little more entitled or felt that way at least. And so just leading up to that, I felt like, all these people out here aren’t going to say anything? I had a totally different stance than everybody because I knew Peter, I know his family and I know what type of person he is. So I just felt like, if anyone were to say something, I felt like he probably would listen to me vs. some random girl.” During the episode, Victoria F. told Peter she was “disgusted” that he asked her about Merissa’s claims. (The Virginia Beach native also denied “rumors” that were circulating about her in November 2019 before the season started airing.) Despite the drama, Peter gave Victoria F. a rose. She shared a sweet message for the lead on Monday via Instagram. “Thank you Pete for always having faith in us & believing in me, even when I would doubt myself along the way ,” Victoria F. wrote alongside two pics of the pair. The latest installment of episodes began with Sabrina

from over as she found herself trying to juggle her duties in
