"The episode that I submitted for [the Emmys] was Episode 5, with that beach scene," she revealed to Variety, using The Flight Attendants' emotive script and her troubled character to get out her own dark feelings.

"My director Pete Chapman came up to me the day before, and he was so lovely. He’s like, 'How do you want to shoot this tomorrow?' I said, 'Can you just, like, put cameras around the beach, and just start rolling?' And for two hours, I just cried."

Pelphrey wrote on his account “Nothing can save you. And you stand in the moonlight and sweetness comes off the top of the trees, and the fence around the yard seals you off from the dark and you can’t breathe. It is all so familiar and possible. It is too simple that there is this much good in the world and you don’t know how to have it."
