It's John Cena! The veteran wrestler is set to return to WWE programming on New Year's Day.

WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon dressed as Santa Claus made the announcement about Cena's return to WWE "Raw" and "SmackDown," once two of TV's top-rated shows.

The WWE account posted a video on Twitter Monday, writing alongside it, "@VinceMcMahon, oh...er... #SantaClaus, has a few AMAZING announcements to make on #Raw!"

"Santa Claus has presents for all you little boys and girls. Matter of fact, the greatest of all time, John Cena, is back," McMahon said in the video. "He's back on 'Raw,' he's back on 'SmackDown.' "

Cena's return will come on the New Year’s Day edition of "SmackDown Live," according to the WWE's official website.

"Monday Night Raw" and "Smackdown" were Nos. 1 and 2 on Nielsen's top 10 list of social content ratings last week, showing that the programs are high performers with fans on social media. However, both programs have been suffering with viewership and criticism from fans, so an appearance from a star of Cena’s caliber will likely be a big boost.

Following the announcement, the 16-time WWE world champion headed to Madison Square Garden and showed off his hair for "WWE Live."

WWE fans took to Twitter to express their feelings about Cena's comeback.

"@JohnCena comeback to the @WWE for the holiday tour was a fantastic idea," one user tweeted. "He’s killing it in the ring and his new hair is everything. Love it, Love him!!"

"Thank you so much for bringing back John Cena," another user tweeted.

Another user let a GIF do the talking for them about Cena's return.

However, not everyone was so happy about his return.

"Bringing John Cena back is going in the wrong direction," one user wrote.

Cena's wrestling has taken a bit of a backseat to his budding acting career. The 41-year-old had a starring role in "Blockers" earlier this year, and is now starring in the latest "Transformers" movie, "Bumblebee," alongside Hailee Steinfeld.
