Kevin Spacey To Pay 'House Of Cards' Producers $31 Million

A judge has ordered Kevin Spacey to pay the producers of Netflix’s House of Cards $29.5 million in damages and $1.5 million in attorney’s fees. The show’s producers MRC cut ties with Spacey in 2017 after multiple allegations of sexually predatory behavior were made against him. MRC investigated the allegations and Spacey was ordered to pay the studio for breach of contract as he violated their sexual harassment policy. However, Spacey’s lawyers then filed an opposition asking the court to dismiss the motion claiming he “never sexually harassed anyone”. The few times Spacey was told that his conduct made someone feel uncomfortable or was in any way unwanted, he stopped, Kevin Spacey’s lawyers. MCR won the arbitration award in 2020 and it came out in November 2021 after the studio filed a petition to confirm it. In a statement, MRC’s attorney said that the studio is “pleased with the court’s ruling”.
