The Blacklist season 10 has teased an explosive reveal that will rock the foundations of the series. The NBC crime drama, which premiered in 2013 and has aired 200 episodes, is now currently running its tenth and final season. The series follows Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), an ex-FBI agent and current Most Wanted List member who agrees to work with FBI profiler Liz Keen (Megan Boone) to track down criminals on his "blacklist," which details various terrorists, mob bosses, and more.

Today, AV Club shared an exclusive clip from an upcoming episode of The Blacklist season 10. In a bold move, it features season 1 blacklist member Wujing (Chin Han) to reveal the truth behind Red's activities to his former mentor Robert Vesco (Stacy Keach). Vesco, who first appeared in season 6, is a con man who recently reappeared to accompany Red on some dangerous adventures, but now may be prepared to turn against him.

The Blacklist is Raising the Stakes in Its Final Season

In the decades since its premiere, the series has evolved considerably from its original format. The early seasons were episodic adventures featuring a new member of the blacklist being tracked down by the team while Red worked in the background to achieve his own ends. However, Liz's death in the season 8 finale changed the structure of the series.

So far, seasons 9 and 10 have focused on Red renewing his blacklist efforts while running the dregs of a criminal empire. Various blacklisters from the past have returned with revenge on their minds over the course of these episodes. However, this new scene from season 10 seems to be setting up an arc that will lead straight into the series finale.

Now that Vesco has potentially been flipped against Red, the dynamic between the mastermind and his former mentor could be flipped on his head. This could be the kickoff to a cat-and-mouse game that will likely end up with one or both of them dead. However, Vesco is notoriously unpredictable, so there is always the chance that he has already figured out this information for himself and will team up with Red against Wujing.
