Zack Snyder Explains How 'Army Of The Dead' Wound Up At Netflix After Warner Bros. Passed On It

Zack Snyder spoke with Insider's entertainment correspondent Kirsten Acuna over Zoom on Friday, May 7 to discuss his upcoming movie, "Army of the Dead." An idea that Snyder first had after 2004's "Dawn of the Dead," Snyder recalls how the film sat at Warner Bros. for years until a 2018 meeting with Netflix where the director mentioned his passion project. The streamer acquired the distribution rights from WB and went all-in on Snyder's zombie-verse. In addition to "Army," Snyder is working on prequels and already has ideas for sequels. "Army of the Dead" will be released in select theaters on May 14 and will be available to stream on Netflix, starting May 21.
