Raising Twins With Down Syndrome | Raising the Future | Parents

When Venessa and Claudio found out their twins had Down syndrome, they were initially overwhelmed by the negative–and inaccurate–information they were given. After learning about the incredible capabilities of people with Down syndrome, they were determined to move beyond those harmful stereotypes and build a better life for their children. That entailed moving to Pennsylvania, where Julian and Noel could attend the local elementary school with their typical peers, as advised by experts. Their new community has welcomed the family with open arms in the inclusive spirit all children should receive, no matter what.
