Giant fireball streaks across Phoenix sky

A fireball that streaked across the sky in Phoenix, Arizona, on February 26 was captured on a resident’s home-surveillance camera. The footage of the possible meteor was recorded by Alex Howes’s Nest camera at 5.33 am local time on Wednesday morning. The official Twitter page for the city of Phoenix also recorded a fireball streaking through the sky around that time. The American Meteor Society received reports of the possible meteor in Arizona and neighboring states, it said. Howes told Storyful the security video was pointed toward the South Mountain area.
