Castle warfare expert rates 8 castle and fortress scenes in movies and TV

Medieval-fortification expert Michael Fulton looks at eight castle-defense scenes from popular TV shows and movies and rates them based on realism. He looks at "Outlaw King" (2018), "Vikings" S3E8 (2015), "The Great Battle" (2018), "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (2003), "Ironclad" (2011), "Robin Hood" (2010), "Game of Thrones" S2E9 (2012), and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (1975). Fulton is an assistant professor of medieval history at Western University in Ontario, Canada. He's published many papers on siege tactics and defenses and is the author of "Artillery in the Era of the Crusades." Fulton is currently working on the books "Crusader Castle: The Desert Fortress of Kerak" and "The Contest for Egypt."
