Great-Grandmother Killed by Stray Bullet on Thanksgiving
A great-grandmother was shot and killed Thanksgiving day while sitting at home in her recliner. The Stuart, Florida, Police Department says Mattie Jones was an innocent victim in a violent altercation. According to Stuart Police, “Three individuals were shot” just before 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Two people were critically injured and Mattie Jones was killed. The 73-year-old grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 22 will be laid to rest just as the holiday season kicks off.
