LA Lakers fan overcome with emotion after Lebron James gifts him sneakers
Lebron James made it a day to remember for a young Lakers fan when he gave the kid his sneakers after helping LA to a road win against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, November 27. Footage by sports reporter Bill Oram shows the young fan becoming emotional as he poses for photos while holding Lebron’s footwear. Anthony Davis shone on the night for the Lakers, with 41 points, but it was also a big night for Lebron. He hit 29, and, in doing so, became only the fourth player in NBA history to reach 33,000 career points. Speaking to reporters after the game, Lebron said he noticed the young fan supporting him during the game and first attempted to throw him his armband and wristband, which were intercepted by adults. “I knew not to throw my shoes because I knew they would be intercepted. I made eye contact with the kid. He had my T-shirt on. I’m thankful that he loved the way I play the game so I gave him my shoes.” Credit: Bill Oram/The Athletic via Storyful
