Man Arrested After 2000 Litres of Liquid Ecstasy Discovered in Shipping Container

Australian police intercepted a AUD$10 million shipment of drug gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), also known as “liquid ecstasy”, and arrested a 30-year-old man in Sydney on Friday, February 9.The joint Australian Federal Police and Australian Border Force operation led to the identification of a “high-risk” shipping container arriving at Sydney earlier in the month, leading to the arrest in Lewisham, the AFP said. The man was charged with one count of importing of a commercial quantity of a border controlled substance.According to The Daily Telegraph the drums inside the shipping container were disguised as car wash shampoo.The AFP said it was one of the largest seizures of the drug in Australian history.
