Woman makes history as Minnesota's first Black female sheriff
Dawanna Witt is making history as the first Black female sheriff in the state of Minnesota, after decades of working in the police department. Becoming a mother at 15 years old, Witt’s inspiring path to law enforcement is far from conventional. NBC’s Blayne Alexander reports for TODAY.
