Resisting control: Spot fire crosses river, forces evacuations

Fire crews are having trouble getting a handle on the wildfire burning in three Northern California counties. Overnight, crews said a spot fire near Forbestown crossed the south fork of the Feather River -- burning about 400 acres. That prompted the Yuba County Sheriff's Office to issue a "re-notification" of mandatory evacuation orders. It said the fire situation outside Yuba County's northwest border is unstable and continues to creep closer to neighboring communities. During its most recent briefing on this portion of the fire, Cal Fire said the flames that jumped the south fork of the Feather River were "resisting control" and that their focus Saturday would be attacking that spot fire. Watch the video in the player above to hear from people feeling the impact of the fire and the ongoing evacuation orders in place.
