Afternoon and evening showers possible: Northeast Ohio’s Thursday weather forecast

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Rain is back in the forecast for Thursday in Northeast Ohio with showers possible in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

There’s a 40% chance of rain between noon and 5 p.m. and a 40% chance again between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., the NWS forecast shows. Thursday’s rainfall should total less than two-tenths of an inch.

It’ll be mostly sunny in the morning with increasing cloud cover throughout the day. Expect west to northwest winds at 11 to 15 mph. Temperatures will top out around 50 degrees with a low around 40.

Cleveland gained three minutes of sunlight on Wednesday and will gain another three on Thursday.

Extended forecast

The Akron area could have a slight chance of showers before 2 p.m. on Friday, but Cleveland is expected to remain dry. Where it’s not raining, it should be partly sunny, but highs will only reach the low 50s. Temps on Friday evening will dip around 40 or the high 30s, according to the NWS forecast.

Saturday and Sunday should be partly sunny and mild with highs around 53 and a low around 40.
