Baltimore issues ‘Code Blue’ extreme cold advisory for Monday night, with snow possible Thursday
Baltimore health officials warned of dangerously cold conditions Monday night, with wind chills forecast in the upper teens. And while milder conditions are forecast after that, more snow is possible Thursday.
City Health Commissioner Letitia Dzirasa declared a “Code Blue” extreme cold warning for Monday night through Tuesday morning, urging residents to check on vulnerable neighbors and bring pets inside. The declaration prompts homeless shelters to extend their hours and expand their capacity.
Low temperatures are forecast in the mid- to upper 20s around the Baltimore region, but 10-15 mph winds are expected to make it feel significantly colder.
Temperatures are forecast to rebound starting Tuesday, though, with highs forecast near 40 degrees Tuesday and nearly 50 degrees Wednesday.
