TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A porch fire that occurred late Sunday at a home in central Topeka has been ruled intentionally set.

The fire was reported around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at a residence at 1835 S.W. Lincoln.

Topeka Fire Department crews reported smoke and flames coming from the home’s front porch when they arrived at the scene.

Crews contained the blaze to the porch and no other damage was reported.

All of the home’s occupants were able to make it outside safely on their own, Topeka Fire Marshal Todd Harrison said.

No injuries resulted from the blaze.

A preliminary investigation indicated the fire was incendiary, or intentionally set.

The estimated loss was $150, which included $100 to the structure and $50 to its contents.
